To take screenshots, press the Print Screen button (sometimes abbreviated as Prnt Scrn/Prt Scn/Prt Scr). This copies the whole screen. If you have a big computer with a CPU (Central Processing Unit), the key will probably say Print Screen or Prt Scr, and if you have a laptop it will most likely say Prnt Scrn. Below that you should see SysRq or SysReq (no abbreviation).
Once you have pressed it go to AppleWorks (for Mac) or Paint (for Windows). Now go to Edit > Paste. After that you will need to crop your picture (this is a little hard to explain, so it is best to go to the Help section of AppleWorks or Paint). Now save your screenshot as a JPG/JPEG, GIF, or PNG (if you want it to be on your blog). GIF causes a bit of color loss, JPG blurs the picture slightly, so PNG is the only choice remaining. If you want a clear picture then save it as a PNG (see the Funny Pictures post; the first 2 are PNG and the rest are JPG). Remember: PNG for Club PeNGuin pictures (or any other pictures for that matter)!
If you just can’t copy-paste the screen then look at the picture; it shows a standard computer keyboard.
Now upload it to your blog and there is your screenshot!
PS: If there are any other laptop/computer users who don’t use either Mac or Windows (Gateway and HP are examples), I’m not sure how to take screenshots on that computer. If any of you visitors know how, please post it!
